Meet Our Cardiologists

Dr Josh Tsai
MBBS, FRACP | Consultant Cardiologist & Physician    

Dr Josh Tsai is a Clinical Cardiologist who completed advanced training in Cardiology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. His interests include the management of structural and valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease and heart failure.  

Dr Tsai performs transthoracic echocardiography, trans-oesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography and diagnostic coronary angiography. Dr Tsai sees adult patients only.

Dr Chin Lim (Retired)

Dr Chin Lim is a Clinical and Pacing Cardiologist who graduated with Honours from the University of New South Wales. Dr Lim went on to complete his specialty training in Cardiology at the St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney.

At St Vincent’s, Dr Lim had the opportunity to work alongside the late Dr Victor Chang and his team of heart failure specialists at the National Heart Transplant Centre.  

Dr Lim relocated to Cairns in 1993, after completion of his Advanced Cardiology training, to establish the first private Coronary Care Unit in Cairns at the Calvary Hospital.

Dr Lim also worked as the Director of Cardiology at the Cairns Base Hospital until his retirement from public hospital commitments in 2003. Dr Lim established Cairns’ first Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory in 1999 and implanted North Queensland’s first ICD (implantable defibrillator) in 2002.  

Dr Lim also has an active interest in clinical and preventative cardiology, management of coronary and structural heart disease as well as device based treatment of arrhythmias and heart failure; implanting and follow up of loop recorders, pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation devices.
